Parents-Teachers Association

Parents –Teachers Association (PTA) plays a significant role in the raising of academic standards, fostering harmonious relationships between the faculty members, students and parents of the students and maintenance of discipline on the campus of the college.

Aim

To foster and promote good relationships among the members of the teaching staff,  students and parents/ guardians of the students.

Role

PTA provides a platform for parents/guardians and teachers to discuss, frame and suggest matters pertaining to the academic and co-curricular activities of the students. It plays a very proactive role in building a  healthy relationship among faculty members, parents and students

Activities

PTA offers sound suggestions regarding elevating academic standards, maintenance of campus discipline, students uniforms and  co-curricular activities of the students. Further, it collects fund from benefactors for the use of students academic & co-curricular activities and distribution of scholarship to the eligible students. PTA is extending praiseworthy support to the setting up  of students amenities and imparting life skill training to  the students.

Constitution

The  PTA Committee consists of  i) A President  (ii) A Vice President  (iii) A Secretary elected from among the members of the teaching staff; and  (iv) Not more than 8 other members of which at least 4 shall represent the parents/guardians  and 4 the teaching staff. The Principal of the college is  the President.

The PTA general body is convened at least 2 times during an academic year.  Following  the internal examinations, the meeting is convened and the parents are informed of the performance of their wards. The Executive meeting is convened at least 5 times a year to discuss and  solicit  suggestions from the parents and teachers. The PTA members are imparted training, intending to render support to the performance of their wards and new age parenting styles
