• Department was supported by DST FIST and currently having the support of DBT STAR College scheme
• More than three students come in the top ten university ranks every year.
• Participation of students in various scientific conferences to present their research works
• More research oriented learning with Biotechnology as vocational subject
• All students attend On job training in the final year in addition to the research project
• Assistance in Career guidance and higher education options.

Some of the commendable achievements of the department are:

• M G University top three ranks in BSc. Botany Model (II) consecutively for the last four years.
• Paper presentations by students in scientific conferences and best paper awards
• Student placement in banks, industries etc.
