DBT STAR COLLEGE SCHEME
NEWMAN COLLEGE, THODUPUZHA
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India launched ‘Star College Scheme’ for Strengthening of UG Science by improving critical thinking and encouraging ‘hands on’ experimental science at undergraduate level in science subjects. Through this scheme DBT identifies colleges with potential for excellence and provides support for developing infrastructure for academics and laboratory activities.
Newman College, Thodupuzha has been selected for DBT-STAR College Scheme under the “Strengthening component” by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India (Sanction No: HRD-11011/27/2021-HRD-DBT) during September 2021. The departments - Botany & Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics - are supported under the Strengthening scheme for a period of 3 years.
