27-05-1964      College office opened at the temporary site  (town church building) by  Rev. Dr. John Vallamattam, the Founder Secretary.

21-06-1964      The first Principal Rev. Dr. Theobald C.M.I. took charge

30-06-1964      Rt. Rev. Mgr. mathew Vellankal took over as Manager in the place of Rt. Rev. Mgr. Kuriakose Nambiaparambil

07-07-1964      Provisional affiliation from University of Kerala

10-07-1964      the college was  inaugugurated by H.E. Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathew Pothanamuzhy with 400 students

15-12-1964      College shifted to the permanent site

03-12-1965      Ten thousand volumes added to the college library, thanks to the efforts of Rev. Fr. Paul Tharaniyil

22-11-1969      Rev. Fr. Mathew Palamattam, Principal and Dr. M.V. Pylee, member of the Managing Board, nominated to the newly constituted Syndicate of the Kerala University.

27-02-1971      Dr. George Jacob, Vice-Chancellor visited the
college  and presided over the College Day celebrations.

22-04-1971      Foundation stone laid for the library building.

25-03-1974      Dr. R.S. Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor chaired the College Day celebrations.

03-06-1974      The new library building blessed and inaugurated by His Ex. Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathew Pothanamuzhy.

24-04-1977      Very Rev. Dr. George Punnakottil, consecrated Bishop of Kothamangalam, took charge as Patron of the
college.

24-05-1977      Rt. Rev. Mgr. Cherian Veranany took over as Manager

22-10-1977      Dr. V.K. Sukumaran Nair, vice-Chancellor visited the college.

06-03-1978      Minister Sri. P.J. Joseph, member , Managing Board  was felicitated and he presided over the College Day Celebrations.

20-07-1995      Blessing of the partially completed Students’ Centre building. Canteen shifted to it.

09-11-1995      M.Com course started.

27-05-1996      Thodupuzha East P.O. started functioning in the College  Campus

03-09-1996      New main gate of the College opened

05-12-1996      Sri P.J. Joseph, Hon’ble Minister for Education visited  the  college and addressed  the staff

01-06-1998      Prof. M.C. John, Principal proceeded on leave prior to retirement (Retired on 30-6-1998)

01-06-1998      Prof. T. Ousepachan took charge as Principal

15-08-1998      Newly constructed College Chapel, Vijnana Matha           Church, consecrated by Mar George Punnakottil, Patron of the College

08-12-1998      M.A. Eng. Literature Course inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister Sri. P.J. Joseph

1999 Oct. 25 -27  NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council, Bangalore - An autonomous institution of the UGC) Peer team consisting of Prof : M. Lekshmanan, formerly V.C. Madurai Kamaraj University, Dr. S. Indhumathi, Professor of Economics, University of  Mysore, and Dr. C. Thangamuthu, Professor, Department of Economics, Bharathidasan University, Thiruchirappilly  visited the college for assessment and accreditation.

15-2-2000        B.Sc. Botany Course inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister Sri. P. J. Joseph.

01-02-2000      The College was accredited by NAAC at  Three Star Level for a period of 5 years w.e.f. the academic year 1999 - 2000.

31-7-2000        Indian Journal of Post Colonial Literature, started publishing by the department of English

01-11-2000      Prof. T. Ousepachan, Principal proceeded on deputation as Principal of College of Applied Sciences, Thodupuzha. Prof. K.A. Aprem took charge as Principal.

09-14/01/2001 Kerala State School Youth Festival hosted by the college.

12-02-2001      Rs. 3 Lakhs sanctioned from the M.P. Fund of Sri. K. Francis George,M.P. for the purchase of Computers. The Computer Lab inaugurated by Sri. K. Francis George M.P.

22-03-2001      University Study Centre  inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Education Sri. P.J. Joseph. M.G. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Cyriac Thomas participated in the function.

31-03-2001      Prof. K.A. Aprem, Principal retired.

01-04-2001      Prof. M.J. John took charge as Principal.

31-05-2001      Pre-degree Course completely delinked from  the College.

04-08-2001      M.Sc Chemistry Course started.

25-27-01-2005                                                  Science Exhibition in commemoration of the125th  birth anniversary of Albert Einstein.

 28-11-2005     The first ‘Rev. Dr. John Vallamattom Memorial Lecture, (originally Foundation Day Lecture) delivered by H. E. Sri M. M.  Jacob, Governor of Meghalaya.

18-12-2005      The historic visit of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, President of India, to the institution. The Karshikamela jointly organised by the Gandihiji Study Centre and the college, inaugurated by His Excellency.

11/08/2006      Refurbished  college auditorium dedicated to the student community by Rt.Rev. Mar George Punnakottil, the Patron.

22/12/2006 - 02/01/2007: National Integration Camp of National Cadet Corps with over 500 participants from all over India, hosted by the  college.

20-22/03/2007 The Peer Team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) consisting of Dr. B.S. Sherigara, Vice Chancellor, Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Karnataka (Chairperson), Dr. V.
